Scott Swidersky serves as Vice President of the Intelligent Information Management (IIM) Practice, Konica Minolta Business Solutions, U.S.A., Inc. and President of its division Quality Associates, Inc. (QAI). As a member of the executive leadership team, Mr. Swidersky is involved in the overall management and direction of the organization.

With more than 20 years of experience in the document management field, Mr. Swidersky holds a deep understanding of integrated solutions. He joined QAI in 1997 to launch the company’s Information Systems Division. The group provides comprehensive, customized software, services and solutions that support all aspects of knowledge and content management.

Under Mr. Swidersky’s leadership, the division quickly matured into a full-service systems integrator and value-added reseller (VAR). He also established the division as a proven, reliable partner to organizations requiring innovative document management and IIM solutions. Today, the division actively partners with, and receives awards and recognition from, the most widely regarded names in the enterprise document management field, including Kodak Alaris, Kofax, Fujitsu and many more.

In 2008, Mr. Swidersky played a key role in forming the QAI subsidiary, DocPoint Solutions. The firm provides a full range of consultative services, support and software for IIM, with a specific focus on providing Microsoft SharePoint to organizations that are looking to expand employee collaboration, advance the availability of knowledge and increase information exchange across the enterprise. Like its parent company QAI, DocPoint Solutions is a certified GSA Federal Supply Service (FSS) contract holder.

Mr. Swidersky holds a bachelor’s degree from Jacksonville University and is an active member of the Association for Information and Image Management (AIIM).

Michael Pitts
Michael Pitts
Senior Director, Contracts and Facility Security Officer

Michael Pitts is the senior director of contracts and facility security officer at Quality Associates, Inc. (QAI). In this role, Mr. Pitts is responsible for managing all contract vehicles and partner agreements. In addition, he manages all facility security requirements, including all reviews and audits, as well as manages all staff security clearances, confidentially agreements, visit letters and authorizations.

Mr. Pitts joined QAI in 2002 and has more than 30 years of experience in networking, programming and systems integration. Before joining QAI, he spent 12 years with Universal Hi-Tech Development in Rockville, Maryland. There, he held various executive positions, including senior vice president of the company’s New Business Group, where he was responsible for the overall technical direction and growth of the company.

Earlier, Mr. Pitts held managerial positions at RJO Enterprises, EER Systems and Ford Aerospace, where he served as a networking and technology consultant to area businesses and government organizations.

Mr. Pitts holds a Master of Science in engineering management from The Johns Hopkins University and two bachelor’s degrees from the University of Maryland.

John Burgess
Senior Consultant and M-19-21 Advisor, Intelligent Information Management Practice

John Burgess is a senior consultant and M-19-21 advisor in the Intelligent Information Management (IIM) Practice of Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. and its Quality Associates, Inc. (QAI) division. As an accomplished executive and leading industry advisor with more than 20 years of experience in the document management and Intelligent Information Management field, Mr. Burgess is a member of the Konica Minolta IIM Practice. He works with both federal and civilian organizations across the country to develop innovative records management strategies that leverage best practices and evolving technologies for successful paper-to-cloud digital transformations. Most recently, Mr. Burgess draws upon his extensive understanding of the document record lifecycle to develop and put in place plans that address the complex M-19-21 compliance requirements issued by the National Archives and Records Administration (NARA).

Prior to joining QAI, he served as lead consultant for Ricoh, USA, where he focused on enterprise electronic content and records management programs that increased performance, advanced continuous quality improvement and delivered tangible business value.

Mr. Burgess holds a bachelor’s degree from Franklin and Marshall College, Pennsylvania.

Doug Yates

Consultant and Advisor, Intelligent Information Management Practice

Doug Yates is an accomplished executive and advisor in the Intelligent Information Management (IIM) Practice of Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc. and its Quality Associates, Inc. (QAI) division, along with its affiliate, DocPoint Solutions.

As a consultant with more than 20 years of experience in the industry, he is a seasoned expert in document/records management, process improvement and related business technology. Currently, Mr. Yates is responsible for managing and improving client relationships nationwide by helping organizations better leverage their technology investments. Relying on his expertise to analyze complex environments and challenges, Mr. Yates understands a collaborative approach and a strong commitment to the customer/employee experience is essential within an organization to successfully improve document/records management, processes and security.

Prior to joining the company, he served in leadership positions and consultative roles, working in both the private and public sectors to advance solutions for managed IT, collaboration, business technology and document/records management.

Laura Starr
Account Executive

Laura Starr is a distinguished executive and advisor in the Intelligent Information Management (IIM) Practice at Konica Minolta Business Solutions U.S.A., Inc., including its Quality Associates, Inc. (QAI) division and affiliate DocPoint Solutions.

With over 15 years of expertise in information management solutions and sales leadership, Laura is pivotal in driving the development and expansion of scalable solutions for State, Local, and Education (SLED) sectors. Her career includes significant accomplishments in complex sales and business development, notably with History Associates Incorporated (HAI), a leading small business in information management, archives, digitization, and historical services.

Laura holds a Masters of Library & Information Science and a Masters of History from the University of Maryland, College Park. She is an alum of Notre Dame of Maryland University (formerly College of Notre Dame) and Mount de Sales Academy in Catonsville, Maryland.
