Fulton, Md. – Quality Associates, Inc. (QAI) (www.qualityassociatesinc.com), an established provider of services and solutions for document management, imaging, and archiving, announced that it is performing multiple content management projects for Anne Arundel County Maryland. The goal of the projects is to create a searchable and retrievable enterprise electronic document solution for various offices within the County, including the Department of Public Works and the Department of Inspections and Permits.
Quality Associates designed an intelligent information management (IIM) and workflow system consisting of software and hardware for converting and storing records and materials that were previously only available on paper. Additionally, Quality Associates digitized approximately 40 years of operating maps for water and sewer for the Department of Public Works, and set up a digital permit management system for the Department of Inspections and Permits. The County Council office of Anne Arundel has also digitized their bill and resolution document collection, VHS tapes, and audio material to allow for central access through a Web browser.
Jack Martin, Deputy Director of IT, Anne Arundel County, said, “We are pleased with the work done by Quality Associates. They performed the hands-on support needed to digitize more than three million documents, and put in place the needed hardware, software, and support for an intelligent information management system that is designed to meet our present and future requirements. Looking ahead, the new infrastructure will enable certain departments to access and share information and we look forward to having the ability to improve and enhance business processes to meet new challenges.”
Scott Swidersky, director, Information Systems Division, Quality Associates, said, “Anne Arundel County is once again taking a forward-thinking approach and adopting state-of-the-art technology to improve and streamline its procedures. Advances in hardware, software, and storage solutions are making it possible for organizations such as Anne Arundel County to improve productivity, facilitate collaboration, and protect against loss or damage by creating accessible, searchable electronic archives. These online repositories are made up of legacy content and current documents, regardless of the format types. Counties are dealing with vast amounts of paperwork, and they are realizing that there are better ways to do business. By standardizing storage, retrieval, and workflow processes, counties can streamline the exchange of information across departments and work smarter.”
Quality Associates focuses on providing services to government agencies and private companies in regulated industries such as accounting, legal, healthcare, and finance. Quality Associates is a GSA Federal Supply Service (FSS) contract holder.
