Ian Macharia

Information technology professionals often work “behind the scenes” in many businesses. Yet their efforts are known and appreciated by all.

Ian Macharia is no exception. In his role of Network Administrator, Macharia oversees the smooth operation of Quality Associates’ company-wide information and communications infrastructure, which includes everything from the connectivity of servers, computers and printers to training and assisting employees with IT concerns.

“I make sure that Quality Associates’ information systems are up and running,” said Macharia, who joined Quality Associates in September 2004. “I address the information and communication technology requirements of our various business processes by evaluating, purchasing, implementing and maintaining the solution for the business process stakeholders.”

In addition to his regular duties, Macharia oversaw the planning, installation and implementation of the technology and communications infrastructure at Quality Associates’ new headquarters in Maple Lawn. Working closely with the builder, Greenebaum and Rose Associates, Inc. and other contractors, Macharia examined floor plans to determine the allocation of resources.

“Everything needed to be put together from scratch—from the wiring to installing the resources. The effort was about making sure that Quality Associates had everything to meet its needs and be up and running on the Monday after the weekend move,” said Macharia, who has nearly 20 years of professional experience in information technology.

Quality Associates would like to thank Ian Macharia for his dedication and for his continued efforts in keeping Quality Associates operating smoothly—as well as for his extra effort in successfully transitioning the company to its new headquarters.
